"My daughter attended her first Pay It Forward birthday when she was in kindergarden; it was so meaningful to us that it changed the way we celebrate birthdays and other occasions. She decided then that she would do the same thing for her birthday, so her charity of choice was the SPCA. She asked her friends to bring pet supplies or a small cash donation. The birthday was held at a local bowling alley and the SPCA was conveniently located in the upstairs of the building. At the end of the party the children were able to take the donations in and you could see the pride in their faces, as well as the volunteers. Since then, my daughter has opened a Kiva account and continues to give to this charity. Teaching my children the importance to help and share with others is invaluable. This is a lesson that will be with them forever and has changed them for the better."
